Wind Waker @ Manhattans 22-10-2010

Wind Waker's second last show at Manhattans 22nd October 2010, two weeks after the recording sessions for the aborted Astral Travel/Wind Waker LP and nine days before the final show at 208. I tried to pull us off this show since the difficult member disappeared a week beforehand and I didn't feel like doing a set of drum 'n' bass but apparently you can't pull out of shows if you're supporting important bands from melbourne. The five audience members might've been disappointed if we had.

Wind Waker playing at the Norfolk Basement 16th July 2010. Probably one of the better shows of the Ringham/WWII era of the band. Too much gtr in this recording though. Some girl tried to pick me up after the gig so it must've been a good set.

Wind Waker playing at the smRts CD launch at The Rosemount Hotel 10th of September 2010. Featuring Louis Hooper on skins and sticks again, this was a half decent set. I was able to explore the upper regions of the rosie because of this gig and I am grateful.

Garnering unexpected global attention, including a Washington Post shout out and divisive reception of their latest 7" single, Freemason's Hall/ Sunbathing in Squalor on Mess & Noise, DIY backyard band Taco Leg have also managed a US release on Fan Death Records and an upcoming tour in February.

Meanwhile, released on Heartless Robot Productions the self-titled CD EP from Perth’s young but no less experienced Wind Waker have also generated much local praise and support since their beginnings as a now defunct four-piece Blow Up. Tutored in various share houses and function rooms and recorded in a former horse stable their first release will hopefully be one of many.



This will be the gig of the year I guarantee. If you disagree I will give you Louis' 7" of Agadoo.
