A Very Heartless Xmas

Although mostly unrecognised by any Westralian, Australian or international media, Heartless Robot have been quietly releasing some of the best music Perth has had to offer over the past 3 or 4 years, making themselves by default Westralia's best label. They've had an especially good run this year with Smrts' "Have Friends And Visit Them At Night" (Tristan Fidler's choice for album of the year and mine too),  Drowning Horses' double LP!!!!!, Decibel's "Stasis Ecstatic" LP, the Bamodi/Mekare-Kare split 7" and plenty more. Now it's time for the 2nd or 3rd (who can remember back that far) annual Heartless Robot Xmas Show! For 15 bucks on the door or less preorded, you get like 8 bands.

WATER TEMPLE

Loftus st Party w/ Water Temple & SMRTS

It'd been a long time since we threw a party at Loftus st but this was a killer. We screened Raed Melki's Still Flowin, a charmingly true story which is often described as R.A.E to the motherfucking D's 8 Mile, to an audience of us and Deni. The neighbours weren't home, the  cops never showed and we all got loftus'd so everybody wins.



Water Temple were pretty rough by the time we played, so it was one of our best sets. Download here.

I only recorded the last 9 or so minutes of SMRTS' set, blame Matt, but it was their best set yet. They were fucking intense, everyone cut sick, end of story. Download here.

Pond Frond Launch @ The Bird 17-07-2010

Pond launching Frond at the Bird 17th July 2010. I don't remember much of this gig because I was "claiming the drunkard throne" wasted, I do remember walking there and back with Ben Stewart who was also epic loose, getting in free after the bird hit capacity while dozens of people walked away unhappy and about a dozen people jumping the fence to get in.

Chapel Space 30/05/09

On saturday there was another show at the chapel space.
This time Carbuncle, Pond, Mental Powers and Fabulous Diamonds
all played and they all slayed. It was another night of wonder.
I had to get fresh AA's so i missed Pond, word is they were very
very good. I stole some photos for this, the sepia ones I stole
from Greg Taw and the coloured shot of Fabulous Diamonds I stole
from Matt Giles, ah the wonders of facecrack.
